Q: What is the difference between Engine Mode Only & Engine Mode Featuring the Driver Comfort Control Center?

A: Engine Mode featuring the Driver Comfort Control Center is basically like having central air in your cabin year round. This is achieved by using the Temp-A-Start© custom programable thermostat. Engine Only Mode maintains only engine & battery functionality, and does not include the Driver Comfort Control Center.

Q: What can I expect to save?

A: Your savings can be broken down into 2 groups: Fuel Savings and Engine Life.
Fuel Savings:
You can expect an increase of 1/2 to 3/4 plus Miles per Gallon (MPG) with Temp-A-Start© on board. Example: Sleeper equipped truck, in service 5 1/2 days a week. Driver normally sleeps approximately 6 1/2 hours per day. Without Temp-A-Start©, that would be a continous 6 1/2 hour idle time. With Temp-A-Start©, worst case scenerio would be 3 hours of idle time. During these conditions, you can expect to save approximately $100.00 (u.S.) in fuel costs. Under average conditions, your fuel savings will jump to approximately $150.00 (U.S.) per month. As Temp-A-Start not only reduces the fuel consumption during Driver sleep intervals, it eliminates all other unnecissary engine idling automatically as well, resulting in additional savings. Under average (or typical) conditions, you can expect a yearly fuel savings of approximately $1,800.00 (U.S.) plus your hidden benefits. Currently Temp-A-Start meets or exceeds all State idling reduction legislation and requirements.
Engine Life:

Q: What does all the extra starts do to my battery and starter life?

A:Battery and starter life is actuallhy extended because you are never starting a cold engine. Battery life is a function of charge, discharge, and load. With Temp-A-Start©, your average start time is approximately 2 to 5 seconds and your starter cranking load is light, resulting in longer battery and starter life.
